Walk Where Lions Rule

The Route

What are Lion Trail Safaris?

Follow paws and not footsteps into the wildest paths of Botswana.

Lion Trail Safaris is an unforgettable experience in Botswana. These safaris are highly immersive, often involving mobile and camping expeditions designed to observe, track, and conserve the country’s highest concentration of lions. Our lion trail safaris can be the most exciting part of the Best African Safari Holidays you can imagine.

Dating back in history, lion trail safaris were exclusively hunting expeditions, which were regulated from the 1960s onward. Currently, Lion Trail Safaris primarily focuses on an ecotourism initiative to photograph Africa’s largest concentration of lions.

Key destinations of most lion trail safaris include Chobe National Park, especially the Savuti Marshes, and the Okavango Delta. These Northern regions of Botswana are highly predator-rich and are comparatively less explored than many of Africa’s renowned national parks. Other spots for lion trails include Moremi Game Reserve, Linyati Wildlife Reserve, and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, which black-maned desert lions especially inhabit.

We at Bush Nature Safaris offer mobile and lodge-based safari options for all travellers. Tourists will be accompanied by professional guides with expertise in tracking lions and will ensure absolute safety in the wild. Apart from majestic lion prides, travellers can expect to see diverse flora and fauna and scenic backdrops that justify Botswana’s beauty.

Adventure Itinerary

Lion-Trail Safaris is dedicated to providing guests with the highest-quality adventures in Botswana. Africa’s 20,000 – 25,000 wild lions are mostly confined to conservation areas, protected from poaching and away from urban human settlements. Sightings are quite common across popular destinations; however, the best time to view them closely has yet to be determined. While some roam the plains all day, others sneak out at dusk, perfectly posing against the backdrop of savannah sunsets.

Our 10-Day Lion Trail Adventure guarantees you a good viewing, along with a fantastic dining and bush safari experience. Most camping accommodations are included in the lion trail adventure, where guests travel from one destination to another while tracking wild lions. Expert guides, camp chefs, and other assistants will accompany travellers to each destination, ensuring safety and assisting with lion tracking.
